Estrela, Maria D., 69, of Rice Ave., died peacefully at home on September 4, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Jose da Estrela. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Francisco V. and Maria dos Anjos (Ledo) Cabral.
She worked as an assembler for Beaucraft Inc. for 10 years.
Besides her husband of 52 years, she is survived by her children; Adelina Estrela and her husband Manuel of East Providence, Maria Cordeiro and her husband Serafim of Providence, Manuela Andrade and her husband Artur of East Providence and her son Jose Estrela and his wife Cidalia of Swansea, She was the proud mother of the popular music artist José Nazario. She was the devoted grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was the sister of Jose Francisco Cabral and Maria Espirito Santo both of Sao Miguel, Azores and Maria José Penacho of Canada. She was the sister of the late Artur Cabral.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 AM from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Traverse St. Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 PM.
